Mid-Morning Skate: Feb. 8, 2013
What was expected to be a morning skate has turned into a full practice. The Albany Devils, which were originally scheduled to travel to play the Springfield Falcons at MassMutual Center today, will instead practice at Knickerbacker Ice Arena this morning due to the impending snowstorm. They will worry about the Falcons during the make-up day on Apr. 2.
Today’s practice could be the first for newly acquired center Andrei Loktionov. The 22-year-old is in his fourth professional season after splitting each of the previous Los Angeles (NHL) and Manchester (AHL).
The New Jersey Devils improved to 6-1-3 with a 4-2 victory against Tampa Bay last night at the Rock. Patrik Elias, Andy Greene, Adam Henrique and Ilya Kovalchuk each netted goals and Martin Brodeur made 17 saves on 19 shots.
